Winter is not over yet. Pittsburgh will celebrate the First Day of Spring with a complex winter storm that will include accumulation, especially overnight tonight through Wednesday. The last few runs of the NAM and GFS models have been consistent in all showing more than 6″ of snow in the city, with most showing more than 9″, however most forecasters are not predicting anywhere near that much. The late March sun will make accumulation difficult during the day today, but overnight there will not be any restriction to the snow piling up; therefore, almost all of the accumulation will occur from dusk until dawn tonight.
Below is the forecast roundup from all of the outlets we track for the storm. We’ll be back on Thursday to review the forecasts and assign accuracy scores, which will impact the Forecaster Rankings.
