We’ve awoken from our two year hiatus as one of the biggest snowstorms in nearly 20 years is bearing down on Western Pennsylvania.
Frigid temperatures have already set in, and now a major swath of moisture is approaching from the southwest. This system is expected to bring double-digit snowfall totals to nearly all locations in the Pittsburgh media market, with an open question of how strong and how far north a tongue of warm air will be, bringing with it sleet and holding down snow totals.
There is strong consensus in the forecasts that the city will see no less than 8″ of snow, but there is disagreement in how much more than that will accumulate.
